BIO

Niket Paudel is a dedicated social worker, educator, and advocate for social justice with extensive experience in diverse communities. Originally from Nepal, his career spans direct social work practice, community development, and higher education, with a focus on addressing social inequities and promoting culturally respectful practices in service delivery. Niket earned his Bachelor of Social Work from Tribhuvan University in Nepal and a Master of Social Work from the University of Wollongong, Australia. His expertise covers various areas, including family violence, men’s behavior change programs, and community development. He has also made significant contributions to social work education and research.

A notable achievement in Niket’s career was his work with Manchester City Fan Club Nepal (MCFC Nepal), where he served as a Board Director from 2015 to 2018. In this role, he led initiatives aimed at empowering marginalized communities in Kathmandu, such as “Empowerment through Football.” This program sought to enhance the education and skills of youth from indigenous communities, with Niket conducting surveys to assess needs and collaborating with local committees and government representatives to ensure culturally respectful implementation. In Australia, Niket has worked extensively in family violence intervention, particularly as an Integrated Practice Worker and Senior Men’s Practitioner. His work involved engaging perpetrators of family violence, developing risk management plans, and coordinating services with police, child protection, and housing to ensure a holistic response. Niket used frameworks like Multiagency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) to focus on safety for women and children while holding men accountable for violent behavior.

Since 2024, Niket has served as a Lecturer at the Institute of Health and Management, where he teaches courses on Human Rights, Lifespan Development, and Social Work Practice. His approach emphasizes critical thinking, inclusivity, and real-world application. Niket has also contributed research to journals, including work on person centred and trauma informed approach in social work and the marginalization of asylum seekers in Australia. Through his practice, education, and research, Niket Paudel continues to champion social change, advocating for marginalized communities and promoting equality in social work.
